Luna was born with a congenital melanocytic nevus, a rare form of skin disorder, in South Florida, United States. The condition caused her to be born with a dark birthmark on her face, earning her the moniker ‘Batgirl’

Doctors in the United States had previously informed Carol that removing the mark would require a series of approximately 100 high-risk laser interventions.
